With only a couple weeks before the first Formula E race ever, Andretti Autosport Indy Lights driver Zach Veach has shown his interest for the purely electric series.

On the shoulders of three wins and four pole positions, Veach finished third in the Indy Lights championship this year.

“There’s definitely interest. You know anything Andretti is doing I would like to get in a possibly drive,” said Veach during Tribute Racing’s weekly radio show.

“I think Formula E (has) a good message behind it and it’s possibly going to be the future of racing here in a few years, so we just gotta keep our mind open.”

With Andretti Autosport yet to announce their second driver, Veach hope’s his performance on the Indy Lights tour might help him into another race car soon.

“I would love to go over there and test the car and wee what it’s like. I was a little weary to go over there a couple weeks ago (for) the test because I didn’t want to really switch gears from Indy Lights and have to adjust to a new car.”

The top 10 Formula E drivers of 2020-21

OPINION: The 2021 Formula E campaign was one without a narrative for much of the season, with no single car or driver able to break away from the pack. That makes choosing a top 10 especially difficult, particularly as the qualifying format meant some worthy performers were unable to enjoy their day in the sun.

How Mercedes and de Vries achieved Formula E glory the hard way

When Nyck de Vries dominated the first race of what would be the most controversial and unpredictable Formula E season to date, it looked as though Mercedes was in for a cakewalk. But as the campaign wore on, the path to a title double became increasingly rocky. Neither driver or team would be assured of the crown until the closing stages of the very final race on a weekend of struggle in Berlin.
