The British racer, who is a factory-backed McLaren driver, could soon be officially announced as teammate to reigning champion Nelson Piquet Jr.

NEXTEV TCR is not planning on testing any other drivers before the cars are shipped to Beijing at the end of the month.

"We are still negotiating but hopefully everything will go forward soon," Turvey told Motorsport.com at Donington Park. "Nothing is confirmed yet but obviously I would love to get more Formula E racing under my belt."

Turvey, who drove the NEXTEV TCR twin-motor season two car in Spain last month, is scheduled to get his first official test day laps.

The former Le Mans LMP2 class winner last week flew from Tokyo to Donington for the first combined test but didn't complete any laps due to motor problems during the first day in the twin-motor, single-gear powertrain design.

"At first it is a bit strange not having to up-change or down-change," said Turvey. "But you still get used to it and we had no real issues in the many testing days we did in June and July.

"The team has done a lot of work in the last week on the dyno. We have a lot of new bits here this week so we are hoping we can get a lot of miles done."

Turvey has no clashes with his Super GT program in the Far East in 2015, which continues next weekend with the Suzuka 1000kms.
