The Audi Sport Abt Formula E team has announced details of a formal technical partnership with Schaeffler for the 2015/16 season.
Schaeffler will build and develop the whole powertrain for the team, whose season two car will begin testing in the next few weeks.
Prof. Dr. Peter Gutzmer, deputy CEO and CTO of Schaeffler AG, said of the partnership: “Schaeffler builds technology for the future. It is challenging and innovative in Formula E which is technology driven and has global reach."
Schaeffler is one of Europe’s largest technology companies, specialising in automotive and industrial applications.
The company has close links with Audi and Porsche in various motorsport disciplines, including DTM with Audi and with Porsche in FIA WEC, where they are involved in the hybrid and powertrain technology.
