The all-new season-two powertrain on the NEXTEV TCR Formula E car tested for the first time today, as these exclusive photos reveal.
The technical package – which features systems developed by NEXTEV TCR in conjunction with the US-based Omni Gear precision gearing company – was put through its paces by Antonio Garcia.
NEXTEV TCR has already confirmed current championship leader Nelson Piquet Jr on a multi-year deal, while the team is set to test several potential team mates for the Brazilian next month.
As revealed by Motorsport.com last week, Oliver Turvey will race for the team alongside Piquet. Turvey is currently in Spain at Campos Racing undergoing simulation work with the team.
Homologation of the new package for NEXTEV TCR, which was put together by China Racing founder Steven Lu, will happen early next month.
Like the other eight manufacturer teams, NEXTEV TCR has been supplied with a test Spark chassis to bed-in its new powertrain.
Details about the technical package of the new-look racer are expected to be revealed shortly.
