e-dams-Renault tops the teams’ classification
This coming weekend the inaugural Formula E season ends in the grandiose setting of Battersea Park in the heart of London. It’s an exceptional final as there will be two races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday; and with both the drivers’ and teams’ title still up for grabs an electric ambiance is guaranteed!
e-dams-Renault tops the teams’ classification and has put its under-par performance in Moscow behind it. The French outfit still enjoys a commanding lead over its closest pursuer, Audi Sport Abt, but it’s not enough for the team to play it safe: it will have to fight to the bitter end, all the more so as Sébastien Buemi has an excellent chance of winning the drivers’ crown.
Even though he’s well aware of what’s at stake he’s feeling quietly confident: “After what happened in Moscow we know we can’t afford to make the slightest mistake in London. We can capitalize on the fact that the car was very quick in the Russian capital. The Battersea circuit looks pretty tricky, and as we’re in England the weather could play a role in deciding the outcome. This being said, I’m feeling confident and I’ve done a good job preparing physically as two races in a single weekend is going to take a lot of out of us.”
Nicolas Prost shares this point of view: “The whole team and I have worked very hard to be ready, and we’re hoping to finish the season on a high note. The layout looks quite interesting, but it’s very narrow and qualifying is going to be of crucial importance. The outcome of the championships will be decided in the last two races and you’ll have to be fighting fit to score good results. Recovering will be the key.”
In terms of endurance both Buemi and Prost know what they’re talking about as the Le Mans 24 Hours two weeks ago provided excellent training for them. e-dams-Renault is fully focused on a single objective – to win the battle in England and clinch at least one title!
Virgilia Landrain (marketing manager): “Once again we’d like to thank all those who voted for our drivers at the previous round. I don’t need to tell you how crucial your support will be at the last two races. You can take part in the conquest of the first Formula E title for e-dams-Renault with Sébastien and Nicolas so in advance thank you for your votes!”
