Lucas Di Grassi will remain with the Audi Sport Abt team for the 2015-16 season of Formula E.
The Brazilian, who also races in the World Endurance Championship in the Audi LMP1 squad, confirmed the news on his Twitter account.
"I'm proud to announce I will continue with Audi Sport Abt Formula E Team during the second season of Formula E," he tweeted.
Di Grassi currently leads the drivers' standings of the inaugural Formula E season with five rounds remaining after winning the opening race in Beijing last September.
"I've got to know and appreciate the ABT Sportsline team over the last few months. I didn't hesitate for a second when it came to extending the contract," said di Grassi.
"We've been through a lot in the time we've spent together. Success as well as small setbacks, which just brought us even closer. The team and I have ambitious targets in Formula E and I'm convinced that we will reach them together."
He sits a single point ahead of compatriot and fellow ex-Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr, who won the series' most recent outing at Long Beach last month.
