Di Grassi on top again in final Long Beach practice

Lucas di Grassi set the pace in the last 30-minute free practice session ahead of qualifying for the Formula E round on the streets of Long Beach.

Antonio Felix da Costa (Amlin Aguri) was the first man to lay down a serious laptime with a 57.694s, but was soon shaded by series leader Nico Prost’s 57.637s for e.dams. Felix da Costa’s reponse was to lock up and disappear up an escape road.

Andretti's Jean-Eric Vergne showed little ill effects from his accident in the previous session, and lowered the fastest time to 57.597s until di Grassi – who is determined to reclaim his points lead this weekend for Abt Audi – banged in his 57.293s.

"We did the qually sim, just to make sure the car is OK and the motor map was in the right position," said di Grassi. "And we are quite happy with the performance."

Vergne stayed second, ahead of Prost and opening session pacesetter Nelson Piquet Jr in his reliveried Team China car.

Speed was sixth fastest from da Costa, Stephane Sarrazin, Sam Bird, Jerome d’Ambrosio and Loic Duval.
