The Swiss racer will enter his third year in the championship, having finished in 11th position last season.

Fontana, who has three podium finishes in GP3, is the first Status driver to be confirmed for 2015.

"In the previous seasons I've already shown I can be fast, but in GP3 this is not enough," said Fontana. "The level is very high, track time is not much, and you have to give 110% from the first lap.

"This year, I won't speak about reaching the top five, the podium or the title.

"This year I'm going to give everything I can to the team and work together in the best way, confident that we will reach what we deserve. GP3 is all about consistency and team work, that's why my choice was Status Grand Prix."

Fontana's first outing in the Status car will be at the first pre-season test at Estoril on 18-19 March.
