The 18-year-old Swiss driver contested a rookie campaign in the series with Jenzer last year. He ended the season as the team's top scorer in 11th and picked up its only podium of 2015 in the reverse-grid race at Silverstone.

Prior to that, he'd raced in the Formula BMW Talent Cup and the German entry-level series ADAC Formel Masters, taking race wins in both.

“I’m very excited to be joining Koiranen GP," Boschung said.

"They have had success over the last few years in GP3, which is very attractive from a driver point of view.

"I am really looking to get to work with the team and hopefully have a successful year together.”

The Swiss driver tested with the outgoing Status Grand Prix outfit and with Arden in the post-season before heading back to the Jenzer fold for the shakedown of the new Dallara GP3/16 car at Magny-Cours.

However, he will pilot a Koiranen car in 2016 instead and is currently running with the Finnish team in the pre-season test at Estoril.

At Koiranen, he joins fellow sophomore Matt Parry, as well as rookies Mahaveer Raghunathan and Matevos Isaakyan.
