DAMS drivers fast but disappointed

Today's start of Valencia race 2 was quite confusing. Franck Perera was one of the victims of this situation. As the car in front of him stalled Franck had to stop his car in order to avoid the crash. Ferdinando Monfardini could go through and got back on the grid for the second start. The young italian had then a good start and finished his 1st lap in 11th position. On lap 4 his car started to smoke and the team advised to stop, investigations are not finished at the moment in order to determine what was the problem. Franck, due to the fact that he had stopped in the first start, was obliged to start from the pits, as 4 other cars. Unfortunately the first car of the queue in the pits stalled again, and Perera was obliged to wait for more than 30 seconds before he could join the track, which was the end of the chances to score any point today.

Ferdinando Monfardini : "The car was very good today, it is a shame we had this problem because it could have been a very good race. The team has worked hard and I am happy with our progression, I think we will be strong in Imola."

Franck Perera : "There was nothing I could do and I lost all chances to do a good result in the start. It is a shame because our lap times were good, we have learnt a lot this weekend and I look forward being in Imola and show that we have the level to fight in the front."
