The Racing Engineering’s bearer, back from certainly positive test sessions, couldn’t finish his debut with a good performance in the Bahrain track because of some unfortunate problems, it was below any expectation.

Really too bad considering that both in tests and in the free practice sessions the Italian driver showed good things and a good feeling with the car and the track, finishing Friday morning with a very promising third position! Also qualifying were positive, ended in full top ten with the eight overall place.

Unfortunately things went differently in the two scheduled races, where the Ferrari Driver Academy protégé saw his performance compromised in both cases from the star, as twice he was blocked in his place on grid, in Race 2 the engine even went off. To get things worse in the Saturday race he also had a drive-through because too much speed in pit lane.

In conclusion the first round’s haul wasn’t satisfactory, but it’s only the inaugural one of the long calendar of an extremely competitive championship. Time and means are all there to be at the top and the timer showed it as Lello was very fast all along the weekend.

Raffaele Marciello: "In Race 2 I made a mistake at the start as in Race 1, but the engine went off and I was blocked on grid. Unfortunately I still haven’t the right feeling with the start procedure and this is the result. It’s too bad as we were fast and we had a good pace, we are sorry for the points we left on track. Of course I’m not happy, now we have to look forward to the next round in Barcelona hoping in a weekend with no hitches”.
