French 23-year-old Berthon is at his second season in the Series. In 2012, he proved his point among rookies by hitting the podium twice and gaining a valuable experience on-track. Ceccon, a young 19-year-old from Italy, ran 10 races in the 2011 GP2 Series. Last year he entered the GP3 Series and finalyzed his plans to be back to GP2 just a few days away from the start of the season. Kevin will have to regain the level of confidence needed for such a demanding series with the additional hurdle of having to familiarize with an unknown track for him. He will be fully-supported by the team in his efforts.

The Sepang weekend will be kicking-off on Friday with free practice, scheduled from 11:55 to 12:55 and followed by Qualifying, from 15:55 to 16:25. Race 1 will start on Saturday at 11:15 on a 31-lap distance. The closing, 22-lap run of the weekend is set to take-off on Sunday at 12:15. The timezone of Sepang is +7 hours compared to the Central European time. TV coverage for the weekend will be provided by the Sky franchise.

Nathanael Berthon:

“First of all, i would like to thank Trident and all the people who made it possible! This is not the "perfect" condition for me given that I've known now only a few days that I'm going to race and I haven't done all the tests. But, from my side, I've always worked hard in the event that this would happen and indeed it happened. I feel more than ready and I am very confident for this season, first because I have one year experience in GP2 and second, because I feel Trident is supporting me and showing me as well that they want to work and progress with me.

Regarding this race weekend, I think Sepang is a beautiful track. I already drove here last year and in my opinion, the most difficult part is the weather conditions as it can suddenly rain heavily or also it can be very hot and humid all the time.

I am more than happy to be with Trident. This team is like a family and they work with their drivers. I already knew a few members before joining the team and after having spent some days with all of them, I can see very nice and kind people, with a lot of experience and knowledge and with an extra motivation to win. They are people who share and in only three days of testing, I have learned a lot in terms of engineering and technical parts. I think, I have all the elements to carry out a successful season and fight to be at the top!"

Kevin Ceccon:

“When I realized that I was leaving for Sepang, it was a fantastic feeling! The opportunity to get back to the wheel of a GP2, arrived unexpectedly and my enthusiasm was really indescribable. A uneasy challenge awaits me, given that the last time I got behind the wheel of a GP2 was November 2011. I will also have to familiarize myself with the Sepang track but besides these difficulties, I can't wait to get back into the car. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my management, made up of Stefano Zuech and Tiago Monteiro for all their help. They were decisive in realizing this opportunity and I hope to reward their trust and that of Trident Racing in the best of ways”
