The GP2 Series was back on track in Paul Ricard, for the last spring test before the Championship start, due in Sakhir on the 14th and 15th of April. Trident Racing was extremely satisfied with the results: both Pastor Maldonado and Kohei Hirate successfully completed a race simulation, providing a very positive feedback. The Venezuelan driver was really fast also in qualifying conditions, ending up as the fourth fastest driver of the day. The spring training tests are set to continue tomorrow, before the shipping of the car towards Al Sakhir, Bahrain.

Pastor Maldonado: P4 - 1`13"196
Kohei Hirate: P20 - 1`14"253

Alessandro Alunni Bravi - Team Principal

"Today`s tests really paid off: the feedback we got was absolutely positive and met our best expectations. Maldonado run a 25-lap race simulation, resulting to be both fast and consistent. With his second set of new tires, Pastor was also able to put together a great qualifying run, that put him among the fastest drivers of the day. Hirate made a 30-lap simulation too, keeping a good pace until the closing stages. We worked with Kohei in finding a specific set up to suit his driving style, and we tried to prepare him to the new situations he`ll encounter with several takeoff and pit-stop tests. Tomorrow we`ll take today`s results as a starting point, trying to end on the same positive trend".
