The Monegasque in force at Team Rapax did not hide his ambitions in the only free practice session run early this afternoon where he set the quickest time at the end of a session whereby the track progressively dried out.

Qualifying was held on dry tarmac instead and the classification leader was unfortunately stopped by a puncture while on the second and decisive set of fresh tyres which prevented him to fight for the pole position: the net result was the twentieth time.

The fastest lap of the session was set by Sam Bird (Russian Time), who was followed by Fabio Leimer (Racing Engineering) and Marcus Ericcsson (Dams). Coletti's main rival in the title fight, Felipe Nasr (Carlin), will start from the tenth position of the grid.

Stefano Coletti: "Free practice gave us positive indications - despite the peculiar track conditions - which made us confident in a good qualifying session. The bad luck messed up things instead and tomorrow I will have once again to run a recover race. Quite fortunately Spa offers several overtaking chances therefore I will try to get anyway in the points".

The weekend's programme will resume tomorrow with the Main Race scheduled at 15.40 (GMT+2), while the Sprint Race will follow on Sunday at 10.35. Both races will be covered live by SKY Sports F1 HD.
