Next weekend GP2 Series will be at Spa-Francorchamps for another round, a circuit where Alvaro Parente always excels. Meanwhile, he will be racing a week after in the Portuguese Superleague Formula round.
After, once again, showing at Valencia that he is one of the most promising drivers of the category that precedes Formula 1, Alvaro Parente shows confidence for the next weekend. "At Valencia we were competitive and just some bad luck prevented us of getting a hand full of points. I think that we can be competitive again at Spa-Francorchamps, because our car should suit well to the Belgian circuit characteristics", underlined the driver supported by Soccerade, Delta, TMN, Aurora Group, Geotur e Cision.
Alvaro Parente always got good results at Spa-Francorchamps during his career, as it's possible to see with his wins at Formula Renault 3.5 World Series or with the pole-positions he conquered in the British F3 International Series, besides the second place that he achieve last year in the Belgian circuit, in his GP2 debut season. The Portuguese driver admits the Ardennes circuit pleases him and shows the will to enrich his CV in the next weekend. "Spa-Francorchamps is one of my favourite circuits and I have always reached good results there -- I think it has a layout where the drivers still make the difference. Our goal for the next weekend is to be at the front and to fight for the top positions", said the Ocean Racing Technology driver.
Meanwhile, the driver from Oporto accepted the invitation made to him by Futebol Clube do Porto to drive its car in the Portuguese Superleague Formula round, which will be held at the Autodromo do Estoril in less than two weekends. "It was an in invitation that I, the Polaris Sports and the team couldn't refused, because it's such an honour to defend Futebol Clube do Porto's colours. It's an opportunity to race again at Portugal, after more than one year far from the Portuguese circuits. It's a championship with which I'm not familiar with, but I know that it is very competitive. As I usually do, I'll give my best and I'll try to achieve the best result I can", pointed out the twenty-four years old driver.
However, now, Alvaro Parente is focused in the GP2 Spa-Francorchamps where a good result is, clearly, at his reach.
