The ART Grand Prix driver set the pace this morning in Paul Ricard in a 1:09.934.

The thirteen GP2 teams dedicated their morning to the preparation of Spa-Francorchamps and Monza. Both rounds will close the 2008 championship next September. Therefore, the drivers ran on the 2A track configuration at Le Castellet.

Luca Filippi was the quickest, but was closely followed by teammate Romain Grosjean in a 1:10.060. Both Campos drivers set the 3rd and 4th laptimes, Petrov in front of di Grassi. Andreas Zuber completed the Top 5 while Dams' Kobayashi posted the 6th laptime, ahead of Patano, Rodriguez and Villa.

It wasn't a good morning for the iSport boys with Chandhok crashing into Buemi one hour before the end of the session, and with an oil leak problem for Senna. His engine will be replaced for the afternoon session. Also unhappy: Christian Bakkerud. The Super Nova Racing driver did not take part in the session because of a recurring back pain.
