SCUDERIA COLONI IS READY TO TACKLE THE 2010 GP2 SEASON
Scuderia Coloni successfully completed its preparation for the GP2 Main Series 2010 season. The team took part in the collective tests held in Barcelona from April 7 to April 9, gathering important informations in view of the series maiden race, which will be on the same Circuit de Catalunya on May 8. Unlike what happened in the Le Castellet testing, where a very changeable weather soaked the track repeteadly, in Spain there was just a drizzle in the afternoon of the first day. This means that the team had the chance to work in the better possible way, trying lots of different set-up solutions for a dry track and lapping in conditions that were presumably very close to what the cars will face in May.
As in Paul Ricard, the Scuderia Coloni cars were among the most reliable in the field, lapping a lot and with no glitches. Vladimir Arabadzhiev, being a rookie, showed again his strong will of learning how to take the better from his Dallara-Renault car: he completed 130 laps, impressing the team with flawless runs and an improving trend.
Paolo Coloni: "It was an important testing session for us because, besides the technical part, it allowed us to even enhance the link and the relation between the team and the drivers. From a technical point of view we worked on lots of different solutions, and we are particularly happy about the drivers' and cars reliability: the guys didn't do any mistake on track and we had no problems at all on the cars, this is undoubtedly the best way to prepare for the race. Looking at the laptimes, it seems very close, on the last days there were ten cars in two tenths. Anyway, you never know hot to judge laptimes in testing, we'll see the real situations only in the first practice of the Barcelona race weekend."
