The GP2 Series is back at the Paul Ricard HTTT

For their first official test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT in 2006, the thirteen teams of the 2006 GP2 Series have shown their motivation for a perfect start of the new season. Even though the morning weather conditions disturbed a little the first test of the two-day session with some rain, the drivers took advantage of a drying track to go for perfect drive in safe conditions.

Obviously working mostly on car set-ups, the teams did a great job, and today's best lap was set by GP2 English rooky Lewis Hamilton from team ART Grand Prix, 2005 GP2 series winner. The Team is set to start another great season finding right away the best set-up to top today's time sheet.

On the 3D Paul Ricard HTTT Track solution (3,853km), today's session gave all the teams the opportunity to start a serious program for the 2006 season. The thirteen teams and 26 drivers will continue the session tomorrow with an expected better weather forecast.
