DAMS QUICK BUT NO POINTS BACK FROM NURBURGRING

Nurburgring , 29th May 2005 -- From 13th and 14th place on the grid Lopez and Fauzy were in a difficult position to hope for a point finish today. May be with favorable race circumstances the DAMS drivers could get in the top 6, unfortunately Fauzy started from the back of the grid after he had stalled on the first start, and Lopez who tried to pass Lapierre on corner 1 at the beginning of the race had a contact with the frenchman from Arden in which the rear wing broke. With the time required to get in the pits and replace the rear wing Lopez finished the race far away from the lead but could gain some mileage to bring more information to his engineers. Fauzy finished 10th and has made a satisfying progression through the weekend.

Jean-Paul Driot : "We are very disappointed by the result of the last 2 weekends, the reliability problems and the race facts have been against us quite often, even though our level of performance was good. It is a bad time, but we had already bad times in the past and we have shown that we have the capacity to come back, the championship is long and the team will work hard to be in the front at our national race at Magny-Cours."
