More Sunday points for Giedo at Monza

After a fantastic feature race win at Monza, Giedo van der Garde had to start from eighth place in Sunday’s sprint. Overtaking is more difficult in the dry at the rapid circuit although the Dutchman managed to make up two positions and finish in the points once again in Italy. With only one event to go this season, the iSport driver hopes to move up in fifth place in the Drivers’ Championship.

"I had a very good start again but I couldn't go anywhere on the run to the first corner", Giedo said. "I got pushed onto the grass and came through in eight place. I've only managed to climb up to sixth but because overtaking is very difficult here so there wasn't much more to win today - but that's okay, we've had a great weekend.

"The car was very fast and consistent today and that gives a good feeling for the last two races in Portugal. If I can salvage fifth place in the championship, that would be a marvellous end of my first GP2 season." McGregor
