iSport's poor fortune continues in Monaco....
After an incident packed qualifying, it was more of the same for iSport in race one in Monaco. In what is always a difficult start littered with accidents, the unsuspecting Davide Valsecchi was hit at speed from behind by Ocean Racing Technology driver Max Chilton, which launched Chilton over Valsecchi's car. The iSport mechanics worked furiously to fix Valsecchi's smashed rear wing to get him back out, all but two laps down. iSport racer Valsecchi soon got up to speed and was setting competitive times when he got out of shape and tapped the wall, forcing him into retirement on lap twenty-five. British racer, Oliver Turvey had his work cut out today starting from the back of the grid after an accident in qualifying. On a tight circuit where overtaking is difficult, Turvey kept out of trouble to take sixteenth, an impressive performance as he has been feeling quite ill with suspected food poisoning.
"I was hit on the first lap from behind which broke my rear wing and also damaged my rear tyres which we had to change. So when I took my pit stop for tyres we had no new rear tyres to put on. I think my pace was good after that for the conditions and the car felt good, so I think we would have been competitive today if I did not have the accident at the start".
"It is so tight around Monaco so starting from the back makes it really difficult as you can't overtake. There was not much I could do from where I started so I just kept steady and avoided accidents. I have been feeling unwell with an upset stomach since yesterday so I'm glad I managed to finish".
