Sixteenth position was the end result for Javier Villa at Magny Cours' GP2 sprint race held this Sunday morning.

Javier made a good getaway and passed Valles but arriving a bit too wide at the next corner he was unable to avoid a slight off through the gravel losing several places before rejoining the track again.

From then on, Villa found himself without any chance to fight in the group ahead so he settled down, running alone and set some quick times despite the traction problems he was once again experiencing. The setup changes done for this race weren't sufficient to cure the handling problems of his car, it was still very nervous at the rear which made it really tricky to drive on the limit without making a mistake.

Despite this Villa managed to complete all the remaining laps, continuing with his consistent showing this season, gathering experience and running as many miles as possible. Although this is his main target for this season the young Spaniard is still ambitious and his competitive character means he's already looking for more, working hard with his team to improve his qualifying and race positions in order to get a good result before the season reaches its end.

Javier Villa's own words: "Today things weren't that good. I started the race quite well, passing Valles but arriving a bit wide to the next corner, and found myself in a very difficult position and I couldn't avoid getting in the gravel. >From then it was just a matter of keeping on pushing and setting good times although I again had the same traction problems as yesterday. We changed some things but it wasn't enough and we have to keep working and looking for something more in order to do that jump to the better positions I want."
