HO-PIN TUNG HEADS FOR SILVERSTONE WITH GROWING CONFIDENCE

In this weekend's second race in the GP2-Series, prior to main act Formula 1, Ho-Pin Tung finished 17th on 51 seconds from race winner Javier Villa. Started from 14th place on the grid the young Chinese had to take a wide line in the busy first hairpin and he lost a few positions.

Despite his 17th place in the result list Ho-Pin Tung looks at the coming races at Silverstone and the Nürburgring optimistically. 'After the test session at 'Paul Ricard', which showed significant progress, the balance of the car is good. My confidence in the car grows every lap, this is absolutely necessary to go real fast.'

BCN teammate Yamamoto managed to bring his car home at 13th place.

'This is not a result to be proud of and I am of course disappointed. But I know and I feel that we are heading the right direction. My lack of track time and knowledge of some race tracks is still a disadvantage, but with the growing number of race kilometers the relationship with my car improves,' says Ho-Pin Tung at a cloudy Magny Cours. 'At the end of the race my lap times were good. This shows that knowledge of the track is essential and that the car is all right. It was a heavy and instructive weekend for me', says the GP2-rookie.

Spaniard Javier Villa won race 2, who received the victory from race leader Nicolas Lapierre who crashed.
