Southwater racer Jolyon Palmer is hoping to carry his recent excellent form through to this weekend’s (20-22 July) GP2 rounds at Hockenheim to once again challenge for the podium.

The 21-year-old secured a superb home podium during the last rounds at Silverstone after a brilliant drive in the wet to finish third in the opening Feature Race. He then followed that up in the Sprint Race with fifth to end as the top British performer of the weekend. He also moved up three places in the drivers’ standings to 10th.

This is Jolyon’s first visit to the German F1 track but he’s confident of strong results. “I’m looking forward to Hockenheim this weekend,” said Jolyon. “It is one of the few tracks this year that I’ve not done before but hopefully I can get on top of it quickly in practice. The weather is a doubt still at the moment but I don’t mind what it does after Silverstone, as we had good pace in all conditions.”
