Ericsson picks up penalty

Grid positions lost in Valencia for race incident

Markus Ericsson has been handed a ten grid position penalty by the race stewards in Istanbul as a result of his collision with Adrian Zaugg in this morning's sprint race.

The Swede's impact pushed him up and over the top of the South African's car, with both cars retiring soon after as a result of the impact damage. Ericsson was judged to have caused an unnecessary accident, and the penalty will apply for the next race, which will be the feature race in Valencia.
