The second race of the GP2 series at Imola was practically a non-starter for Clivio as he was forced to retire on the very first lap of the race.

Having finished race 1 in 15th, Clivio started race two in the same position. The 17 lap race started once again with a rolling start and Clivio got away problem-free, keeping close behind Nelsinho Piquet Jnr. At Rivazza, Clivio accelerated but the car did not respond. He had no choice but to retire, parking his car on the edge of the track. The reason for the recurring electronic problem is not clear and the team will be investigating the issue to identify the cause.

Clivio:

"This is of course incredibly frustrating as I didn't even get to race. The start went well and I was keeping close behind Piquet Jnr to get into a position to overtake. But as I got to Rivazza and tried to accelerate nothing happened. All I could do was pull over and watch the race go by. It has been a tough weekend for all of us at Durango, we have worked very hard but have been plagued by reliability problems. My team mate, Monfardini, was forced to retire as the anti-stall kicked in as he approached the start/finish line on the warm-up lap and so he didn't even get to start. The team are going to look into these problems and try to get to the bottom of them before the next race weekend in Barcelona."
