Starting sixth, Sirotkin was fast off the line and was into second place by Turn 1.

At the front, Jordan King had a good launch to lead off the line, with teammate Norman Nato taking the first turn three-wide with ART duo Sirotkin and Nobuharu Matsushita.

While the Russian passed Nato for second, Matsushita made contact with Antonio Giovinazzi and ran wide as a result.

The Italian received a 10-second time penalty for his role in the collision and was forced to retire in the pits later on.

Carnage neutralized the action a corner later after Arthur Pic braked too deep, spun and stopped on track, collecting Matsushita, Alex Lynn and Luca Ghiotto.

Racing resumed on Lap 4 and with King running wide at the penultimate turn, Sirotkin was all over the Briton.

Despite being forced to take the first couple of corners on the outside line, Sirotkin remained side-by-side and forced his way through on King at Turn 4 to take the lead.

The Russian's lead was over a second in no time and better pace in the final stages allowed him to take the checkered flag by 4.9s.

Racing Engineering duo King and Nato completed the podium, the latter closely followed by Artem Markelov.

The Russian passed former teammate Mitch Evans during the race to secure fourth with Oliver Rowland taking sixth.

Yesterday's winner Pierre Gasly could only make up one position to finish seventh, followed by Raffaele Marciello.

Sergio Canamasas and Sean Gelael made up the top 10.
