BUDAPEST WEEKEND CONCLUDES QUIETLY FOR ARDEN

Charles Pic and Rodolfo Gonzalez recorded a double finish for Arden International in this morning's GP2 Series sprint at the Hungaroring, Budapest. The rigours of yesterday's opening race left them too far down to make a serious impact, however.

Pic made good early progress from 11th on the grid, but then dropped two places when he ran wide. He fought back, however, to take an eventual ninth. Gonzalez made one of his trademark flying starts and climbed from 22nd on the grid to 15th at the chequered flag.

Charles:

"This has not been a good weekend. Free practice didn't go well and qualifying wasn't much better, so I was on the back foot from the start. It was always going to be difficult to achieve a good result after qualifying 14th for Saturday's race, but at least we improved our set-up today. We managed to make the car more consistent and didn't have the same tyre degradation problems as yesterday. We were still short of grip, though, so that needs a little work before we get to Spa. With a little fine-tuning, I'm confident we can be competitive in Belgium."

Rodolfo:

"I was happy to make the finish, even if the result leaves a little to be desired. At least I learned a bit more about the track, too, which wasn't possible yesterday. I had a bit of oversteer and, possibly, a minor engine problem -- one or two of the drivers behind saw a trace of smoke. Overall it hasn't been the most positive weekend of the season, but I'm looking forward to a stronger weekend at Spa."
