SERGIO PEREZ STARTS TOMORROW'S RACE FROM 4TH ON THE GRID, GIEDO VAN DER GARDE FROM 10TH.
The drivers of the Barwa Addax Team both finished the qualifying session of the German GP at the Hockenheim circuit in the top ten, with Sergio Perez finishing the qualification session in fourth place and Giedo van der Garde in 10th.
The session was marked by difficult weather conditions. The circuit was completely wet due to the rain that fell during the qualification. Inevitably, there were various incidents and two red flags because of two important accidents.
Sergio Perez finished the free practice session this morning in ninth position. In the qualification he drove with more caution due to horrendous driving conditions and was not able to set a competitive time until the last part of the session. He finally managed to post the eighth fastest time on his penultimate lap and rounded off with a magnificent fourth place on his very last lap. The constant interruptions made life tough for the drivers out there.
Giedo van der Garde finished the free practice in eighth place. In the qualification session he was among the top ten throughout and even managed to set the third fastest time temporarily. Unfortunately for him various drivers, like Sergio, were able to take advantage of the closing laps and improved on his time, after the last interruption due to a red flag.
The first race takes place tomorrow at 15.40 hrs local time. It will be raced over 38 laps of the Hockenheim track, covering a total distance of 173.812 kilometers.
