It was a promising qualifying session for Direxiv Motorsport drivers Clivio Piccione, Olivier Pla and Hiroki Yoshimoto at Hockenheim. David Price Racing's Pla continued his great Silverstone form by setting the fourth quickest time. Piccione (Durango) and Yoshimoto (BCN) had a more trying time, but Piccione is confident of turning 10th on the grid into a points finish, while Yoshimoto believes 12th is not a true reflection of his pace.
Olivier Pla, David Price Racing:
4th position: 1m25.832s
"Considering I had a problem with a slipping clutch throughout the session, this is a good result. Everything is feeling positive with the car and I am confident of a good race."
Clivio Piccione, Durango Racing Team:
10th position: 1m26.126s
"The car was ok, although I was suffering with oversteer, especially in the final sector. The tyres look good and I think we have a strong race set-up, we just haven't found the perfect qualifying set-up yet. It's a long race and I feel confident of a strong result."
Hiroki Yoshimoto, BCN Competicion:
12th position: 1m26.279s
"I was blocked everywhere! Every time I was going for a fast lap there was someone in the way - and not just one car, but two or three. I'm not saying I should have been on pole, but I think top six was possible. I'm hoping for a wet race tomorrow."
Misato Haga, President and CEO, Direxiv Motorsport:
"This is a productive day for our drivers. Olivier looks in very strong form starting from the second row and Clivio and Hiro are both in a position to score some points tomorrow."
