The Portuguese GP2 Series team is in the Top 5 of the Barcelona tests

The last two days of tests for the year in the GP2 Series, held October 19 and 20 on the Barcelona circuit, were very productive for Ocean Racing Technology. Nigel Melker and Brendon Hartley the first day, and the same Kiwi and Antonio Felix da Costa the second day, contributed to the rise in power of Ocean Racing Technology, a team which was constantly at the top of the Catalan tests.

Antonio Felix Da Costa, who recorded the 6th and 7th fastest times on the second day explained, "It was a very productive day. I am satisfied with my performances both on new tyres and worn tyres. I feel very good with the team and after these tests I am sure I am prepared to move up a level. I hope that SoWhat and Tiago Monteiro will be able to bring together the necessary conditions so that I can race in Abu Dhabi."

Nigle Melker was behind the wheel of one of the Ocean Racing Technology cars on the first day. The Dutch driver, who finished on the podium in the 2011 GP3 Series was ranked 3rd and 5th in the test sessions he participated in with the Portuguese team. "Honestly, it was a spectacular day. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the crew and the engineers, who did an amazing job." Nigel Melker declared, "The car performed remarkably and I could not be more satisfied with this day, which will be very important to my career path."

Brendon Hartly, who has known Ocean Racing Technology since last season, after taking part in four GP2 Series races with the team, focused on developing the car. The New Zealand driver achieved the 4th best time in the last test session and declared, "It was a pleasure to take part in this essential work for Ocean Racing Technology. I think that we have found some very interesting technical solutions that will be very important for the team's future."

Ocean Racing Technology's managers, Jose Guedes and Tiago Monteiro, are very satisfied with the technical and sporting results of the Barcelona tests. "The three drivers and the engineers did a remarkable job throughout these two days, where they had to take advantage of every minute in order to make progress. The speed and professionalism demonstrated by the drivers, and their feed-back for the engineers, enabled us to have two extremely productive days which will go down in the history of Ocean Racing Technology. We can analyze all the data from the Barcelona tests with confidence, and determine our driver lineup for the Abu Dhabi races," Tiago Monteiro declared.
