Evans and Gelael to join Campos for 2016 GP2 campaign
Mitch Evans and Sean Gelael are set to make up the Campos Racing line-up for the 2016 GP2 season, Motorsport.com has learned.
Evans, 21, was the 2012 GP3 champion and has spent three years in GP2 since then, scoring four wins for Russian Time.
The Kiwi was expected to leave the category and focus on endurance racing pursuits, having expressed an interest in a Porsche WEC seat, but will now instead serve as the more experienced teammate for 19-year-old Gelael.
The Indonesian contested five GP2 rounds for Carlin in 2015 and was also a full-time driver in Formula Renault 3.5 with the British squad.
Campos won the GP2 teams' championship back in 2008 before being bought out by current Formula E boss Alejandro Agag and renamed Addax.
The Campos name returned in 2014 and the team finished this year in fourth, with a line-up of Rio Haryanto and Arthur Pic.
Markelov staying at Russian Time
Motorsport.com can also confirm that Russian driver Artem Markelov will contest a third GP2 season with Russian Time.
The 21-year-old finished his sophomore GP2 campaign in 13th and scored a maiden podium at Spa.
Russian Time has yet to settle on a replacement for Campos-bound Evans.
