The DPR racing team opened its 2006 GP2 campaign today by announcing a partnership between the British-based team and the Japanese Direxiv company. The new-for-2006, distinctive, blue flame livery on the GP2 cars will soon become synonymous with the successful partnership between DPR and Direxiv. Already linked with DPR in 2005 through its driver development programme, Direxiv's motorsport involvement will be substantially increased this year to include commitments in a number of international racing series from Formula 1 through to Formula Nippon.

The first step of this partnership is the re-naming of the team as DPR Direxiv for the GP2 series. David Price is upbeat about the forthcoming season.

"I'm really looking forward to 2006. In GP2 we are building on what we started last year (with Olivier Pla) and, on a wider scale, we are looking at a long term partnership with Direxiv in international motorsport. It became evident to me that there was a good fit between DPR and Direxiv from a business perspective, and we are pleased to be able to offer Direxiv the benefit of our many years' racing experience." Direxiv's President and CEO, Misato Haga, was equally enthusiastic about the partnership.

"We are a relatively young company, but with big ambitions in motorsport. We recognised that DPR is not only mutually ambitious, but also has a depth of experience that will be very beneficial to us all."

DPR Direxiv drivers, Olivier Pla and Clivio Piccione, today both renewed their acquaintance with the HTTT Paul Ricard circuit in the south of France. At the wheel of their eye-catching Direxiv liveried Dallara- designed GP2 cars, the French and Monagasque drivers are both keen to capitalise on their 2005 experience. The common aim uniting all parties is success on the track, and both DPR and Direxiv believe they together have the means to achieve this. 22nd February 2006
