American Conor Daly will finish the GP2 season in Abu Dhabi this weekend driving for the Venezuela GP Lazarus team. Having had to sit out the last four rounds of the championship in Monza and Russia, Daly is itching to get back behind the wheel.

"This weekend will finish off four seasons of racing in Europe for me and I could not have had a better training ground in preparation for the rest of my career," said Daly. "Lazarus is a great group of guys who believe in me and I was so glad to get the call to come to Abu Dhabi. I know the track well and am ready to race."

Daly will bring his reputation as one of the best starters on the grid to Abu Dhabi with the primary mission to score as many championship points as possible. He will team with former race winner, Nathanaël Berthon from France.

Since its inception in 2005 the GP2 Series has firmly established itself on the world stage as one of the premier one-make racing championships in the world. Ten out of twenty-four drivers of the current Formula One grid got their chance to race at the pinnacle of motorsport after proving their worth in the GP2 Series. GP2 runs a 612 HP Mecachrome V8 naturally aspirated engine matched to a six speed paddle shift gearbox.

In 2013, Daly competed in the GP3 Championship where he finished 3rd. He also drove for AJ Foyt Racing as a rookie in the Indianapolis 500 finishing 22nd.
