CARROLL EXPECTS PODIUMS AT TEAMS HOME RACE GP2

Adam Carroll hopes to give his Spanish team Racing Engineering plenty to smile about this weekend. Two strong performances in Germany last week resulted in a podium for 3rd in the feature race and a 5th place in Sunday's sprint race.

Now the Northern Irishman wants to repay some of the hospitality the Spanish have given him. "It's an important weekend for the team because it's on home soil. They have lots of guests and sponsors here so it would be great to do well in front of them all. We have the momentum after a strong performance last week but we still have some improving to do. We need to work on our speed but last week was a positive step forward."

Back to back race weekends are never easy and the Circuit de Catalunya is one of the most challenging circuits on the Formula One calendar. Physically it is a tough track due to the long high speed corners. "It is one of the most demanding circuits that GP2 visits but I have lots of experience round here. I drove the BAR Honda round here last year and tested GP2 too." Last year Adam finished in the points but off the podium.

This weekend he's looking for a win to keep his growing Spanish fan base happy.
