Following the season opener a month ago in Malaysia, the GP2 Series is heading to Bahrain for the second round of the 2012.
Stefano Coletti is ready to play the role of protagonist at the wheel of the number 14 Dallara of Scuderia Coloni. In the last few weeks the Monegasque hardly worked on training to get ready for the challenging weather conditions he will find in Bahrain with maximum temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius and complete absence of precipitations.
The drivers will have three sets of Pirelli P Zero tires with hard compound and one set of mediums for the entire weekend, which will respectively have silver and white marks, as per Formula One. Tires management is going to be crucial for the race due to high temperatures and abrasive surface.
"Some of my memories of the first years in single seater racing are bound to Bahrain, particularly the Formula BMW 2005 world championship, even if in that occasion we run only on part of the race track; this time we will compete on the whole circuit in its 'Grand Prix' layout and therefore I will have to discover some new corners. Back from Malaysia I focused on fitness training in Kenya, where I also spent the Easter break with my family. Despite the physical distance to Europe, the modern technology allowed me to keep in touch with engineers of Scuderia Coloni, back in Italy, with whom I analyzed deeply the data gathered in Malaysia obtaining important indications ahead of Bahrain".
