The battle is on!

The 2008 GP2 Asia Championship winds up today and tomorrow in Dubai with six drivers still fighting for the finish podium. And it already started this morning during free practice, topped by Grosjean in a 1:42.055

This morning's Free Practice session saw nine drivers at the front all running for different teams-- Behind the 2008 GP2 Asia Series Winner, Luca Filippi from Qi-Meritus Mahara signed a good time in a 1:42.069, closely followed by Kamui Kobayashi on Dams, Karun Chandhok on iSport International and Vitaly Petrov at the wheel of his Barwa International Campos Team. The Japanese and the Russian both need a strong performance at the Dubai Autodrome should they want to claim the 2nd place of the Championship.

Not too far away from them, Adrian Valles - who can also finish in the Top 3 on Sunday - signed the 6th fastest time on his FMS car, in front of Jason Tahinci, earning his best performance of the season so far at the wheel of his BCN Competicion car. Next are Durango's Davide Valsecchi, Trust Team Arden's Sebastien Buemi and Hiroki Yoshimoto, Filippi's teammate. The Swiss driver currently stands 3rd in the drivers' championship. His closest rivals, Fairuz Fauzy and Bruno Senna, both failed to enter the Top 10 this morning.
