GP2 Asia Series: Bahrein, Race 2.
Trident Racing ended up the trip to Bahrain with two top-10 finishes during Sunday`s Race 2. Harald Schlegelmilch cruised to an highly-valuable fifth position, while Ho Pin Tung ended up just two spots behind in 7th. The race was marred by several contacts and off-tracks. The two Trident Racing drivers managed to keep their nose clean and recover after yesterday`s disappointing ending: with no external factors conditioning the day, Trident Racing proved to have a lot of strength in its cards, put together with a well-performing technical package. After the pleasing weekend at Al Sakhir, the team will now move to Dubai, for the closing round of the 2008 GP2 Asia Series.
Stefano Alessi, Technical Chief - GP2 Asia Series, Race Engineer - Harald Schlegelmilch.
"I`m satisfied with what we had the chance to achieve today. We were expecting a tough race due to the bad starting spots, but our cars proved to have a good balancing, and Harald had a good and flawless ride. We were only missing a little bit of consistence, mainly due to our lack of experience on long races with such high temperatures. After an initial analysis, we saw that we might even catch a better result, but the balance of the day is still positive though".
Riccardo Ficca, Race Engineer - Ho Pin Tung
"Ho Pin Tung drove a good race for us today, especially considering that his starting position was far from optimal. We had no problems on the car all-day long, and we even found a fitting set-up for this racetrack, with Ho Pin as one of fastest drivers of the pack. I`m very happy with the great job made by the team during the weekend, especially when we had to replace the broken gearbox at the end of race 2, being forced to stay in our pit-boxes until late night".
