This weekend in Bahrain, and coinciding with the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the GP2 Asia Series season finishes with Javier Villa again among the principal protagonists in the category.

The GP2 Asian series visits Sakhir's circuit for the second time in the 2008-2009 schedule, with the third round of the season having already been run there. For that weekend Javier Villa was regularly among the fastest at the wheel of the Super Nova Dallara, shining especially in Sunday's sprint race, when he finished fifth after starting from ninth position on the grid.

For the last date of the year in the GP2 Asia Series the Spaniard arrives classified ninth in the provisional standings and with the aim of closing his Asian campaign with a good result, and with his sights already on his principal target this season, the European GP2 series that starts at Montmelo at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix meeting.

At Sahkir, the drivers of the GP2 Asia Series will also share the track with the Formula 1 cars, so the scheme of the weekend is back to the usual format of the category, with free practice and qualifying on Friday, the Feature Race on Saturday evening, after the F1 qualification and the Sprint on Sunday mid-morning as curtain raiser for the Grand Prix.
