BARWA ADDAX TEAM FINISH ASIA GP2 SEASON
Barwa Addax Team have finished their participation of the 2009-10 GP2 Asia Series, after this morning's second race at the Sakhir circuit in Barhain.
The drivers of the Spanish team have played a very minor role, after starting way back on the starting grid. It was difficult to shine in these circumstances. Max Chilton started 19th on the grid and all things considered he did well to finish 15th, despite the traffic. The Venezuelan driver Rodolfo Gonzalez, started from a even lower 22nd position and was forced to retire with three laps to go, when he was running 18th.
Barwa Addax Team has had a difficult Asiatic season, in terms of results, due in part to a series of mechanical problems as well as a constant change of drivers. It would be true to say that they have drawn lots of conclusions from alternating rookie drivers with more experienced drivers in this class. They team will, without doubt, have picked up important information for future events.
With the Asia Series now finished the team has set its sights on the principal objective, which is the GP2 Main Series. Barwa Addax Team has set its standards high after having finished on the winner's rostrum in the last three seasons. The team takes on the 2010 season with the same illusion as in previous years and more so after having signed up two magnificent drivers, Giedo van der Garde and Sergio Perez, who will be expected to be fighting it out for honours until the end of the season.
The first event will take place at the Montmelo circuit, Barcelona, Spain and will be support event to the Formula 1 from the 7th-9th of May.
