LUIZ RAZIA IMPROVES 11 POSITIONS. MAX CHILTON FINISHES 17th.
It has been a difficult weekend for Barwa Addax Team. In today's second sprint race at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, they did however, improve on yesterday's results with Luiz Razia finishing 11th and Max Chilton 17th.
Luiz Razia drove a splendid race, starting last but one on the grid, after being forced to retire from the first race, he worked his way through the field to finish in a meritorious 11th position. In a race as short as this one, with no pit stops, this performance shows what the Brazilian driver is capable of, despite not having found the right set up all weekend. The team and driver will have to draw conclusions from the weekend, after so much work with no reward.
Max Chilton, continues with his period of adaptation to this higher class. He finished a race without too many incidents and at least reached the objective of accumulating laps. Starting among the back markers in such a short race is difficult, for such a young driver making the grade to show his true worth. Nevertheless, Max is improving on his times and it shouldn't be long before we see him competing for higher goals.
To sum up, it hasn't been the best of weekends for Barwa Addax Team and the drivers. Hopefully there are lessons to be learnt and that not all the hard work has been in vain. We return to Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi for the next round of the Asia GP2 Series on the 5th and 6th of February 2010.
