Victory for Perez, Bianchi out of luck in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, 13 November -- Sergio Perez emerged victorious in the first race of the last round of the GP2 series at the Yas Marina circuit this morning, running alongside the final round of the Formula 1 World Championship. Starting from second on the grid, the young Spaniard, who drives for the Barwa Addax Team and who only recently has been taken on by the Ferrari Driver Academy, took the win ahead of Oliver Turvey (Sport!) and Sam Bird (Art Grand Prix.) Less fortunate was the other student from the Maranello nursery: Jules Bianchi, along with five other drivers, was given a ten place penalty after yesterday's qualifying, for going through a red light at the end of pit lane. This moved him from the third row back to the seventh, and the Art Grand Prix driver took the flag in eighteenth place.

The final round of the F1 feeder series gets underway tomorrow at 13.30 local time.
