Ferrari World Finals: Loefflad beats Lovat to Coppa Shell win
Thomas Loefflad rounded out the opening day of race action at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Daytona with victory in the Coppa Shell class on Friday evening.
Matt Keegan led for the opening laps, before Rick Lovat took command with a bold passing move going into Turn 1, the Canadian outbraking Keegan around the outside.
Two caution periods, brought out by incidents involving Corinna Costner and Christopher Cagnazzi respectively, interrupted the race.
But with three minutes remaining of the 30-minute night race, Lovat was passed by Loefflad – who started third on the grid.
The German driver, racing for StileF Squadra Corse, secured victory from Lovat, with Keegan completing the podium.
