The 2015 Ferrari Challenge North America moves to the West Coast this weekend, with Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale once again in the hunt for honors across all classes.
The flagship North American Ferrari series makes its tenth consecutive return to Sonoma Raceway, located in the heart of California's beautiful Wine Country set amongst the regions rolling hills and vast array of Napa’s vineyards.
This weekend marks the third round of racing this season, with 31 drivers and their 458 Challenge EVOs representing the United States, Canada and Mexico, entered across the Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli AM and Coppa Shell classes.
Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale has high hopes of repeating its huge successes in round two Homestead-Miami Speedway last month: at its home track, its cars swept the podium in all three classes.
“We’re looking for better results this weekend,” said team principal Ron Vogel. “I think the chances are quite good, we’ve been testing on Friday and it’s all started out very well.”
In the headline Trofeo Pirelli, John Farano is just 27 points behind series leader Emmanuel Anassis. In Coppa Shell, Dan O’Neal leads the way after finishing twice on the podium in Homestead-Miami.
The first race of the weekend will go green at Sonoma at 2:45 PM PST on Saturday, with the second race held at 2:20 PM PST on Sunday.
