Ottawa driver Philip Major is fired up for this weekend's rounds of the Formula BMW USA championship. Rounds 9 and 10 of the extremely competitive series will be the first time that the FBMWUSA drivers have raced on a street circuit and 17 year-old Major has high expectations.

"Threading your way between the concrete walls that line the track is a great feeling." Explains Major. "Being so close to the barriers makes these events really exciting."

Major, in his rookie season of FBMWUSA, has established himself as a regular in the top ten and is keen to up the ante at San José. "I've always done well at street tracks so I know that we are capable of being at the front end of the grid." He says.

After supporting the Canadian and US Formula1 Grands Prix, the FBMWUSA championship will be appearing before a packed house at San José's popular Champ Car event.

"I really like having the crowd so close at street tracks," says Philip, "You can actually see the people while you're racing and it is a great atmosphere."

FBMWUSA rounds 9 and10 will run on the 29th and 30th of July as part of the San José Grand Prix weekend.
