Majorspeed.com driver scores valuable points in penultimate round
OTTAWA, ONTARIO Ottawa's Philip Major was looking to build off of a strong weekend at San Jose heading into the penultimate rounds 11 and 12 at Road America this past weekend. The majorspeed.com driver proved at Road America that his is a threat to win.
Major qualified on the front row for round 11, and then was put on the pole after the polesitter failed technical inspection. In round 11, Major had to settle for sixth position, but his enthusiasm for the weekend wasn't diminished. "It's tough here," Major said. "I learned a lot today, and I think tomorrow we'll be even stronger."
Major's prediction was spot on as from the sixth grid position on Sunday's round 12, he vaulted up the order to finish a very strong fourth. "This race was very challenging," Major said. "I had to fight very hard this race, especially on the last lap. Overall it has been a good weekend for us, now we are really ready to challenge at the final rounds at Mosport."
Mosport will host the final rounds of the 2007 Formula BMW USA championship, and Mosport is Major's home track. "I am already looking forward to Mosport," Major said. "I have a great team in CCB Management and Autotecnica, and I love the track there. I am sure it will be a good weekend for us."
