Maxime Pelletier, ready for Montreal
Montreal, June 6, 2007. -- Maxime Pelletier will be back in a new single seater cockpit this weekend when he takes to the track with a new team, HBR Motorsports, for the second double header program of the Formula BMW USA series held at the Montreal Gilles-Villeneuve facility as part of the undercard of the Canadian Grand Prix. The 16-year old driver will now bear number 10. He hopes the experience he gained last year in his maiden season will be used to quickly reach the best possible setup and put at the top of the charts.
"It's always so exciting to race on your home track, says the 2006 BMW scholar. I find this weekend to be the highlight of my season and I am starting with a new team. HBR Motorsports and Peter Hillebrand are so professionnal and we already have plenty of data about last year's event that we can use for the car setup come Friday morning. I have to start very strong in the open practice in order to be quick for the single qualifying session. Lhave no doubt we will be ready when the reds go out in both rounds."
A three day-schedule
Activities on the track will take place Friday morning when the 18 FB02 race machines will be the first on the famous race track for a 30-minute open practice starting at 8:45 AM. Then the all important qualifying session session will start at NOON sharp for another 30 minutes. Both best times for each driver will be held to fill the grids for the two races. Round 3 will go green Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM after the Formula One qualifying, while round four will be held Sunday morning as a prelude to the F-1 race in the afternoon. "I know Friday is important and I will be ready!" said the yound man.
