PATRIZI HEADS TO FAMILIAR GROUND AT SNETTERTON
Michael Patrizi will have the rare luxury of racing at a familiar circuit this weekend when the Australian races in Rounds 15 and 16 of the Formula BMW UK Championship at the Snetterton circuit in England.
Patrizi completed a successful test at the fast layout in early July, making this weekend's round an opportunity to be on the pace right from the beginning of the weekend.
At the test the West Australian was able to not only set a fast time in the morning session, but also use the afternoon session to complete a long 'race simulation' run. The data and experience gathered from this day will be vital for Patrizi this weekend as he aims for his second podium result for the season.
Patrizi fitted in some extra testing on Wednesday at the Pembrey circuit to further tune the #29 Motaworld Racing entry before this weekend's rounds. The Australian is learning all the time in the Formula BMW UK Championship, refining his driving and set-up skills in the ultra-competitive series.
WHAT HE HAD TO SAY --
Michael Patrizi -- #29 Motaworld Racing
"Testing went well on Wednesday at Pembrey and we also had a good test at Snetterton earlier in the year, so I am feeling confident about this weekend," said Patrizi.
"We had a successful test on Wednesday and found some positive changes in the set-up of the car. The Motaworld crew and I are feeling good about this weekend and we are all ready to challenge for another podium result.
"This is one of the rare occasions I can come to a circuit having already done miles at the track and the test we had at Snetterton in July was especially beneficial. We had a good set-up pretty quickly on the day and that allowed us to do some long runs in the afternoon to simulate race conditions.
"We are in a difficult position in the championship now so we will now turn our attention to getting podiums and race wins for the rest of the season. Snetterton should be a strong weekend for us, so we will be giving it our all."
