João Urbano attacks the lead at Brands Hatch
The Formula BMW UK Championship continues next weekend (24/25th April), at Brands Hatch Indy, with the dispute of the third and fourth races, session in which João Urbano, driver supported by the Luís Figo Foundation (FLF), is well positioned to rise up to the leadership of the Championship. You may recollect that in the seasons debut, at Thruxton, during the second week of the current month, the two young drivers of the FLF, both coming out of go-karting, had a promising start in the single seaters, considering that Urbano managed to obtain a 3º and 4º final standings and Duarte Félix da Costa was 7º on both races.
"It is obvious that I consider the possibility of rising up to the leadership of the Championship of the BMW Formula, nevertheless, and above all, my main goal and most important one, is to gain some points at Brands Hatch. I had a good debut, which made me very happy, because I guaranteed a podium finish and collected a handful of points, hoping to, from know on, obtain a victory.", states João Urbano, which occupies the third position overall in the Formula BMW, six points behind both leaders, Bridgman and Hansell.
Duarte Félix da Costa, is also hoping to do better, in terms of results, than what he managed to do in the seasons opening race. "I have gained some experience, saw how things worked, in terms of performance and rhythm, and I feel that I must practice my dead starts. I believe that that was the downsize on my first two races, and from now on, during my free practice sessions, besides getting to know the Brands Hatch track, I am planning on training a dozen of dead starts. Otherwise, I hope to evolve at all levels and I will surely have a fine tuned car."
