Philip Glew took pole position for round four after an extremely close qualifying session where Glew, James Sutton and Stian Sorlie all ran within hundredths of a second of each other and exchanged fastest laps throughout the session.

Glew and Sorlie went to the top of the times during the first few minutes with Glew running significantly faster than the Norwegian driver. After a little pressure from Joao Urbano, James Sutton and Ollie Smith behind him, Glew put in another flyer to pull back a 0.3 second cushion.

The session was red-flagged after eight minutes to allow marshals to remove two cars that had spun on the circuit. Fortec Motorsport pair Sorlie and Sutton were back on the pace at the restart and moved up to second and third, and then Sorlie improved on the next lap to go fastest. Behind them Joshua Fisher and Tim Bridgman were having a good battle for fourth place.

The second red flag of the session occurred with six minutes to go due to one of the cars suffering a mechanical failure along the Cooper Straight behind the pit lane. Sutton again was quick straight out of the pits and he went fastest from Sutton by just two thousandths of a second. Glew responded straight away by going five hundredths ahead.

Glew's second pole position of the day was then confirmed with the third red-flag of the session which came out seconds after the Soper Sport driver crossed the line and bringing the session to a slightly premature end.
